Bipolar disorder impacts each person in a unique manner. To be most effective, treatment for bipolar disorder should be a unique experience.

When you first enter treatment for bipolar disorder with us, you’ll complete a thorough assessment. This process ensures that your treatment team has identified and is prepared to address all of the issues that have been preventing you from living a healthier life. Depending upon the results of this assessment, your team will select the treatment options that are most appropriate for your needs, and that will best prepare you to achieve your short- and long-term goals.

Individual Counseling

One-on-one support to help you manage symptoms of bipolar disorder

Individual therapy sessions are scheduled on a regular basis for women and girls who are in treatment for bipolar disorder at Timberline Knolls. During individual therapy, you’ll have the opportunity to process setbacks and successes, ask questions about your treatment and recovery experience, address issues that you may be hesitant to bring up in a group setting, and receive focused feedback from a member of your treatment team.

Group Counseling

Share support with others who are in treatment for bipolar disorder

Group therapy offers a host of benefits. During group therapy sessions, you can express your thoughts and feelings, learn from the experiences and insights of others, receive focused feedback from peers and professionals, and practice healthy communication and conflict-resolution skills.

Group therapy sessions can also expand your understanding of issues related to the disease of bipolar disorder, treatment, and continued recovery. Treatment days for women and girls who are receiving care for bipolar disorder at Timberline Knolls typically include multiple group therapy sessions.

Family Counseling

Address how bipolar disorder has impacted loved ones

The impact of bipolar disorder is rarely limited to the individual who develops the condition. Friends, family members, and others who care about or depend upon a person who has bipolar disorder can also be affected.

At Timberline Knolls, we understand how your loved ones can be impacted by your struggles with bipolar disorder. We also appreciate the important role that friends and family can play during and after your time in treatment for bipolar disorder. For these reasons, we offer family therapy sessions when desired and clinically appropriate.

Family therapy can be a truly valuable component of personalized care for bipolar disorder at Timberline Knolls.
