At Timberline Knolls, experienced, compassionate nurses are present in our residential lodges at all times. Whether a woman is suffering complications from anorexia or bulimia, or is experiencing withdrawal symptoms following substance abuse, she will be cared for by trained professionals whom she can call on at any time. Additionally our medical doctors are on call to respond to changes in a woman’s condition and to help nursing staff assess when a temporary transfer to inpatient treatment may be needed to keep a woman safe.
For women struggling to adjust to a treatment center, it can be disintegrating to have their medical needs attended to by medical providers who only visit the facility once or twice per week. Timberline Knolls has medical staff on site 24 hours per day, seven days per week, so women at TK know they can always ask for help. This is an important distinction from some other rehab centers and treatment facilities, which rely primarily on unlicensed personnel to oversee patients when they are not in therapy.
Our medical staff is also trained in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and 12 step facilitation, the same therapy that women work on in groups and with their therapists. It’s extremely beneficial that doctors and nurses will help reinforce the work each woman is doing with the rest of her treatment team as she copes with medical symptoms.
