Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center is respected nationwide for its treatment of eating disorders, substance abuse and addiction, and mood disorders.
Our residents – adult women and adolescent girls – come to us when they need immediate, life-saving and life-changing help. Our vision is to help residents achieve lifelong recovery by bringing together clinical treatment with spiritual and emotional growth.
Treatment is holistic, individualized, and nurturing. Our integrated treatment programs prepare women and their families to move forward to a new, productive phase of their lives. We champion the life inside of every resident — in her strengths and weaknesses, with her skills and deficits, and ultimately in the power of her recovery from disease.
Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center is accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation’s leading healthcare accrediting organization.
The Residential Campus
Nestled on 43 wooded acres, the Timberline Knolls campus has received recognition for its beauty from the American Institute of Landscape Architects. The tranquil grounds contain a lake and reflecting ponds, an historic art studio, comfortable contemporary residential facilities, and outdoor activity fields.
Residents are housed in one of four residential lodges, (Oak, Maple, Pine and Willow), which are staffed 24 hours a day with nursing and clinical support staff. Timberline Knolls also employs on-campus security staff 24 hours a day to protect the safety and privacy of both residents and staff.
Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center was founded in 2005 with a team of compassionate psychiatrists, psychologists and clinicians who saw a critical need for a new type of inpatient treatment center: a residential facility combining excellence in medical and psychiatric care with awareness of the realities of recovery.
Recognizing the power of our integrated, holistic treatment model to change the lives of adult women, a second residential facility, Maple Lodge, opened in the fall of 2006. TK Ranch, our on-campus equine therapy program, was added in 2008.
In the spring of 2010, Timberline Knolls opened a second residential lodge for adult women. The Pine Lodge opening coincided with the addition of new programming targeting adult women and mothers with children at home.
Willow Lodge opened in the spring of 2011 and now serves as home to our young women under age 18.
Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center is located in Lemont, Illinois, an historic Chicago suburb located in DuPage County (nearby areas include Bolingbrook, Naperville, and Downer’s Grove).
The campus is located less than 30 minutes from two major airports, Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Chicago Midway (MDW), which provide daily direct flights to hundreds of U.S. and international cities.
Given Timberline Knolls’ proximity to Chicago, residents are able to enjoy off campus experiential activities that enhance their treatment.
The medical and clinical staff at Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center is comprised of leaders in the treatment community not only in Chicago, but also nationally. Members of our staff are regularly sought out by their professional peers for their expertise, particularly for cases complicated by a dual diagnosis or cooccurring disorder.
Staff also contribute to the development of future treatment providers by serving as faculty at leading colleges and universities around the Chicago area, including the University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago, the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and Triton University.
Our clinical team includes full-time Christian treatment therapists, with whom a woman can work with upon request at admission.
