8/6/2007 – Timberline Knolls Marks One Year of Service to Women and Community

Nationally Recognized Chicago-area Residential Treatment Center Achieves Key Milestones

CHICAGO (August 6, 2007) - Women's residential treatment center Timberline Knolls recently marked its one-year anniversary with an open house for staff, residents, and families, during which it celebrated a year of significant accomplishment and service.

The Lemont, Ill. center hit several high points in its first year's efforts to create emotionally strong, responsible, radiant women. Carol Schneider, who was named CEO in October, said the milestones ranged from industry recognition to program and resident expansion. One highlight, she noted, came when Timberline Knolls received the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) Gold Seal of Approval™.

"All of the JCAHO surveyors are required to be certified, so the accreditation speaks volumes about our center's professionalism and service." Schneider said. "This recognition was also coupled with acknowledgment for our staff, namely Medical Director Dr. Sheldon Miller, who received the American Psychiatric Association Presidential Commendation Award."

Schneider also said that partnerships reached with Meier Clinics, a Christian-based therapy group, and ValueOptions, one of the nation's largest managed care companies, have heightened Timberline Knolls' level of service for residents and their families.

"Working with Meier presents us with the chance to offer Christian-based therapy as an option for residents. The organization's philosophy of treating the whole person - physically, emotionally and spiritually - complements our integrated, strengths-based approach to therapy," she added. "In addition, ValueOptions is an asset to our residents and their families since it accommodates women who may not have otherwise been able to manage the daily cost of treatment."

Furthermore, Timberline Knolls extended the previous age limit of 21 to women 12 and over in its first year to ensure treatment was available to those who needed it.

"All of these milestones have brought us to the point we are today with a year of significant successes on the books - from patients, staff and our peers." Schneider said. "We look forward to continuing our success in the future as we make treatment for emotional disorders accessible and personalized for women on the road to recovery."
