11/14/2006 – ValueOptions Network Approves Timberline Knolls
Residential Center Takes Steps to Broaden Treatment Reach
CHICAGO (November 14, 2006) – Timberline Knolls, an innovative residential center designed exclusively for women with emotional disorders, has been accepted for participation in the ValueOptions network. This new option for coverage of treatment costs, along with the recent appointment of a financial advisor to assist and counsel families, allows Timberline Knolls to broaden its reach to include more women in need of help.
ValueOptions is one of the nation's largest behavioral healthcare companies, serving 24 million members nationwide; including employees of Fortune 500 companies, national and regional health plans, and federal, state and local governments. To ensure policyholders receive the best behavioral healthcare available, ValueOptions requires potential care providers pass an independent site survey, which Timberline Knolls passed at 100 percent.
"Through this agreement with ValueOptions, Timberline Knolls can accommodate those women or their families who may not have otherwise been able to manage the daily cost of treatment for eating or other emotional disorders," said Carol Schneider, CEO of Timberline Knolls. "This is the first of several steps we are taking to make our premiere treatment a possibility for a broader range of girls and women."
In addition to joining the ValueOptions network, Timberline Knolls has appointed a financial advisor to work with all potential residents and their families regarding treatment costs.
"Many emotional disorders go untreated due to financial limitations. We are providing additional resources to advocate for potential residents and their families to address their financial concerns. This allows residents and their families to focus on treatment and recovery," Schneider said.
Timberline Knolls specializes in helping young women ages 12 and older, offering treatment for a combination of emotional problems that can include self-injury behavior (SIB), substance abuse, eating and other disorders. With the ValueOptions approval, the facility has further extended its treatment to women over age 21, who may not have been able to independently cover the cost of treatment.
Timberline Knolls also recently expanded its treatment offerings through an exclusive agreement with Meier Clinics, a national group of 23 Christian-focused clinics offering outpatient and day program mental health services.
Timberline Knolls employs approximately 57 medical professionals recruited from distinguished area healthcare organizations, including Northwestern and University of Chicago Hospitals. For more information on Timberline Knolls and the services offered visit www.timberlineknolls.com.
