“I am passionate about my job because I can serve in an administrative and supervisory capacity that ultimately helps our clients receive the highest form of quality care. In addition, I get to carry a small caseload, which allows me to help our women in a more direct way and stay connected to our mission.”
Maria is the Director of Continuing Care, which means she oversees all aspects of our adult partial hospitalization program (PHP), located on the Timberline Knolls campus in Lemont, Ill, and also in Orland Park, Ill.
She provides leadership through program management and evaluation, and staff supervision and development. She works closely with the residential program to ensure complete integration of Timberline’s treatment philosophy into continuing care services.
Maria received undergraduate degrees in biology and classical studies and a Master’s in higher education administration from Loyola University in Chicago. She then went on to earn a second Master’s degree in community counseling from National Louis University in the Chicagoland area.
Prior to Timberline Knolls, Maria was involved in the world of higher education, working at colleges and universities. She began her career at Timberline as a behavioral health specialist, then moved into PHP, working with clients and facilitating groups. When Timberline opened a PHP facility in Orland Park, Maria became the first full-time primary therapist there, and in November 2017, was named director of the program. Today, she oversees a staff of approximately 20 people.
