For Women

What will happen on my first day?

On the new resident's first day, we introduce her to many of the staff, including nurses, behavioral health specialists, therapists and psychiatrists. We check her vital signs and the nurse completes a Nursing Assessment. The Primary Therapist meets with the resident within the first 24 hours and completes a Clinical Assessment. Next, we introduce her to other residents and show her where her bedroom is located. Then we familiarize her with the program and the Timberline Knolls rules.

Will I have more than one therapist?

Each resident has one primary therapist who provides individual and family sessions. The resident also has a multidisciplinary team, which consists of a psychiatrist, registered nurse, behavioral health specialist, registered dietician/nutritionist and certified alcohol and drug counselor. We also have expressive therapists who provide arts, dance/movement and recreation therapy.

What if I don't like my therapist?

If a resident does not connect with her primary therapist, we make every effort to work through the difficulties. If, however, this is not possible, we assign a new primary therapist to the resident.

How long will I stay?
