How does Timberline Knolls measure overall treatment program quality?
Timberline Knolls uses the nationally recognized "balanced scorecard" approach to quality improvement and quality assurance. We track seven domains of quality in the clinical processes of care: Access, Prevention, Assessment, Treatment, Coordination, Continuity and Safety. We also track three sets of outcomes: Cost/Utilization, Clinical/Functional Outcomes and Satisfaction. We collect and analyze data from each domain to identify areas for improvement, thus producing a 'scorecard'. Areas for improvement are based on either comparison to national benchmarks, if available, or internal goals for the delivery of service. Quality Improvement is the function of a standing committee comprising representatives from all Timberline divisions. Timberline Knolls has a full time Director of Quality Assurance who has published and lectured nationally on this subject.
