Catherine Weigel Foy, LCSW, LMFT
Primary Therapist
Catherine Weigel Foy is a Primary Therapist at Timberline Knolls. Ms. Weigel Foy is also an Affiliate Senior Therapist with The Family Institute at Northwestern University and Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Psychology, Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences, Northwestern University. Throughout her career, she has held administrative, supervisory, training and clinical positions in a variety of settings, including not-for-profit, university-based programs, outpatient mental health, inpatient medical and psychiatric, and community-based settings.
Ms. Weigel Foy has served on local and state boards of marriage and family therapy associations, most recently completing a term as Board Member on the Marriage & Family Therapy Licensing and Disciplinary Board of the Illinois State Department of Professional and Financial Regulation. She is currently on the editorial board of the Journal of Feminist Family Therapy. She is a member of the American Family Therapy Academy (AFTA) and a clinical member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). She has been a clinical member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for over 25 years, and is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work.
Ms. Weigel Foy received her Masters' of Social Work degree from Jane Addams College of Social Work, the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a concentration in clinical work. She also received post-graduate training in family therapy and in the supervision of family therapy at the Institute for Juvenile Research, University of Illinois at Chicago. She holds a licenses in both the fields of social work and marriage and family therapy.
