Melissa Rocchi, MAAT, LPC, ATR
Manager of Expressive Therapies
Melissa Rocchi is the Manager of Expressive Therapies and the Art Therapist at Timberline Knolls. Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois, has held several executive positions in the Illinois Art Therapy Association and is currently serving as a director on their board. Her professional memberships include The American Art Therapy Association, The American Foundation of Suicidology, and The Illinois Mental Health Counselors Association. She presents regularly on the uses and benefits of art therapy, both within and outside the art therapy community. Her professional experience also includes hospice grief and bereavement work, as well as adult and geriatric inpatient and substance abuse counseling.
Melissa is also a professional practicing artist. Her work includes 3-D and 2-D materials from metal and found objects to watercolors. She has shown her work nationwide in over 20 different venues.
Melissa received her undergraduate degree in Art and Psychology from Illinois State University and her master's degree in Art Therapy from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. Her training experience includes internships at both an inpatient adolescent psychiatric facility and the Chicago Department of Public Health, division of mental health.
